Rules and Guidelines of NCMCA Empty
PostSubject: Rules and Guidelines of NCMCA   Rules and Guidelines of NCMCA Icon_minitimeFri Mar 27, 2009 4:41 am

First of all, Welcome to NCMCA! We want everybody's time spent posting and enjoying the site to be as positive as possible, and we want everybody to have a good time. To ensure this, it is necessary that a few rules are followed by all members.
1. Respect is to be given and received. Good discussion sometimes becomes heated, and we understand and accept this. All out flame wars and e-battles, however, will not be tolerated. The best conversationalists can get their point across without harsh language or (possibly) false personal charges. We leave it up to our Moderators and Administration to be fair judges of what is acceptable and what isn't.
2. Don't bring your PERSONAL problems onto a PUBLIC forum. If you have a problem with another member of this site - use Private Messages to tell them. No need to start threads directed only at one person. If you're not fond of another user, please use our "Ignore" function on them, and move on with life. If further problems persist, please Private Message a Site Administrator or Moderator about the situation, and let one of us handle it.
3. Do NOT use this forum for illegal activities. Even though we are all local to one another, this forum is NOT a good medium to conduct or conversate about ANY sort of illegal activity. Police can (and do) read public forums, and what you say, in extreme cases, can be used against you in the court of law. Think before you press the "Submit New Thread" button.
4. If your thread is NOT WORK SAFE - LABEL IT as NWS! A lot of members browse this board from work, and we don't want anyone getting fired for looking at inappropriate content. Please use the "NWS" post icon for threads with excessive harsh language, any kind of nudity, any gory or violent content, etc. Please use your best judgement - if you wouldn't want YOUR boss seeing a thread, label it as NWS. Do not post any NWS material in any thread that is not labeled as NWS in the thread subject.
5. No NWS Content in Custom Titles, Avatars or Signatures. This includes language and questionable pictures. No pictures of partial or full nudity of any kind in avatars or signatures. No curse words in thread titles, custom titles, signatures or avatars. If you shouldn't say the word in front of a child, don't put it in your CT, thread title or signature!
6. No business promotion UNLESS you're a sponsoring vendor. If you own a business and you want to advertise to our members - Become a sponsoring vendor! Non-sponsoring businesses also may NOT post in the classifieds section, either. If you're not the business owner, linking to or posting contact information about a business that is not a Sponsoring Vendor is not allowed. You may mention them, but please, no links or contact information.
7. Keep your signature short and sweet. The maximum amount of characters allowed in signatures is 250. The maximum image size allowed in signatures is 500x125. The maximum amount of textual lines in your signature is 10.
Check these rules OFTEN. They will be updated continuously as new situations arise. There cannot possibly be a rule for every situation that will occur with us, so we're trusting our Administrators and Moderators to use their best judgement.
If a member fails to follow these rules, they will be warned, and then banished from the site for an indefinate period of time.

I expect that most people that do post on this site will be intelligent enough to add to the positive experience that posting on a local forum can be, but if we get a member or two who simply cannot follow the rules, it will quickly work to their detrement.

Thanks again, and enjoy!
